The Arizona Diamondbacks will face off agianst the Colorado Rockies in the National League Wild Card Game at Chase Field on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 5:08 p.m. MST and can be seen on TBS.

The Arizona Diamondbacks wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 14-2 win over the Kansas City Royals last Sunday.

A 24-win improvement from last season is a success in and of itself. This team was not expected to go anywhere. But they blessed us with great starting pitching all season long and weathered the storm through the ups and downs — and there were plenty. The D-backs went 14-21 from July 14 to Aug 20. But a 13-game winning streak turned the season around.

In the end, with Torey Lovullo leading the way from the dugout and J.D. Martinez getting it down at a historic level at the plate, our D-backs won 93 games for the first time since 2001, and we all know what happened that season.

Now it is time for the real season to begin. “Our Season” is not finished yet. Here are five keys to winning the wild card game.
