Diamondbacks spring training report dates, location & other important dates to know

Key dates to the start of Spring Training and 2025 season for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The offseason is in its final week, as the Diamondbacks will be returning to Salt River Fields. The Diamondbacks will try to make the postseason for the second time in three seasons after narrowly missing out via tiebreaker. They've been aggressive spenders in the offseason and could be set to carry record payrolls in 2025.

Before the start of the regular season, these are the key dates in February and March as we count down toward the season.

Diamondbacks spring training report date, location & other important dates to know

Pitchers and catchers report: Wednesday February 12

Diamondbacks pitchers and catchers wili report to Salt River Fields. In addition to workouts, the pitchers will be throwing bullpens and starting the prep. It will be a chance for fans to see Corbin Burnes in a Diamondbacks uniform for the first time since signing a franchise-record $210 million contract. It will also mark the first time we can get an update on the health of the players from manager Torey Lovullo.

First full squad workouts: Monday February 17

Five days after pitchers and catchers report, the full roster of position players will join them. It will be a chance to see all 59 players, including 19 non-roster invitees, try to compete for the 26 roster spots for Opening Day. It will be an opportunity to see new first baseman Josh Naylor for the first time. We should also see live BP and the ramping up process toward the season start here.

First spring training game: Friday, Febuary 21 vs Colorado Rockies

The Diamondbacks will open Cactus League play with their complex mates in the Colorado Rockies on February 21 and 22. Arizona will play 28 spring training games, including 12 split-squad games, before returning to Chase Field to take on the Cleveland Guardians for two games before starting the season.

Opening Day: Thursday, March 27 vs. Chicago Cubs

The Diamondbacks will begin the season on March 27 against the Chicago Cubs in both their season and home opener. Arizona starts with four games against the Cubs, then three against the New York Yankees, so it should be a packed house for the first week at Chase Field.

Schedule
