The two top teams in the NL West face off on Saturday, June 24 in an early-afternoon matchup.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will send Merril Kelly (9-3, 2.90 ERA) to the mound in this game, but the San Francisco Giants have yet to announce a starter for this game.

San Francisco has won nine of its last 10 games to move within 2.5 games of first place in the division, and the team has posted a top five ERA in baseball over the last two weeks.

Kelly has been one of the better pitchers in the National League for back-to-back seasons, but should bettors trust him in this spot?

Here are the latest odds and my best bet for this game:

Diamondbacks vs. Giants prediction and pick

I think this is a good spot to take a shot on the Diamondbacks on the road, as the Giants have struggled a bit against right-handed pitching.

Kelly has allowed more than three earned runs in just two of his 15 starts this season, and he’s been great in the month of June, pitching at least six innings in every game and posting a 3.08 ERA.

The D-Backs are 10-5 in the 15 starts that Kelly has made.

Arizona also has one of the best offenses in baseball (fourth in OPS) this season.

If the Giants go with a bullpen game, they should be fine (3.72 bullpen ERA this season), but I trust Kelly more than a smattering of the Giants’ arms.
