There's a three-way tie at the top of the NL West through the first nine games of the MLB season. The San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Los Angeles Dodgers all sit at 5-4.

That tie will be down to at least a two-way tie after today's action as the Diamondbacks and Dodgers will face-off in the final game of a four-game set. After dropping the first game, Arizona has bounced back and won two-straight against LA.

Let's dive into the odds for today's series finale and then I'll break down my best bet.

Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks odds, run line, and total

Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks prediction and pick

We saw plenty of runs in Saturday's 12-8 win for the DBacks and I think we may get a similar result on Sunday. The pitching matchup for today's game isn't exactly one to write home about, with Michael Grove (6.75 ERA) taking on Ryne Nelson (5.40 ERA).

What's even more important than the picher's numbers, has been how hot the Dodgers bats have been. Heading into today's game, they're 2nd in the Majors in OPS at 0.885. The Diamondbacks haven't been bad either, sporting an OPS of 0.721.

As a whole, the two teams are combining for an average of 10.33 runs per game, which means if we get another average performance from both team's bats, we'll be in a good position to go over the total of 9.5.

If both pitchers do survive their respective starts, it's worth noting that the bullpens have been disappointing for both clubs through the first week of the season. They rank 16th and 22nd in bullpen area heading into tonight's game.

Let's sit back and root for runs.
