What time do the Arizona Diamondbacks play today? How to watch NLCS Game 6
- Diamondbacks vs. Phillies will be the first of two LCS games tonight
- The game will air on TBS
When the NLCS started, specifically after how things went in Game 2, not many would have believed the series was destined to bristle up against going a full seven.
Arizona was in a bad place last week, losing 10-0 in a game some thought the had a chance to bounce back in and even the series with. Instead things headed back to the desert looking like the magic of the postseason run the D-Backs were on had run out.
Turns out it was merely a delayed reaction.
Despite the efforts of both MLB and Phillies fans to make a home NLCS game feel like anything but, the Diamondbacks won back-to-back games to even the series and force things back to Philly. That's where the action will be tonight, with the Phillies a win away from the World Series but needing to beat a team that has shown that it's not going to go down without a fight.
NLCS 2023: How to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks today
Merrill Kelly will be on the mound with a chance to avenge his role in the 10-0 blowout loss last week.
It was Kelly who talked trash to Phillies fans ahead of Game 2, and it was Kelly who proceeded to then give up four earned runs in 5.2 innings of work. To be fair, the game didn't split wide open until after Kelly had left, and he managed to strikeout six Phillies batter before things got out of control.
That's the momentum everyone should be focused on. In Game 1 the D-Backs fought back from 5-0 down to show some signs of life, and Kelly's performance in hostile territory in Game 2 proves that he can build upon that for an even better start tonight.
Arizona is going to need it, as it's officially win-or-go-home territory.
