Arizona Diamondbacks Daily Dose: New Uniforms For 2016
The Arizona Diamondbacks will announce new uniforms for the 2016 season on December 3rd. Can they grant my request and wear purple and teal for all 162 games? Probably not but at least I tried right?

What would be most exciting is if they used Sedona Red some of the time and went back to using the throwback colors, teal and purple, all the time. While that won’t probably happen, it is going to be exciting to see what the team comes up with after receiving input from players and other people inside the organization.
This will be the first time since 2007 that the D-backs have changed their uniforms.
Team President and CEO Derick Hall is expected to make the announcement that the club’s uniform evolution will continue at the D-backs’ Celebrity Golf Classic taking place right now at Whirlwind Golf Club.
The event is being hosted by Daniel Hudson and raises money to improve the lives of military veterans; Veteran’s Day right around the corner.
“This is an exciting time for our franchise, as we have a unique opportunity to continue to evolve our uniforms,” said Hall. “We have worked closely with our players for a year and a half to get their input, as well as feedback from fans and some of the top uniform experts in the world.”
There isn’t expected to be a change to the logo or colors, just some minor tweaks to combinations, and other things. This makes me sad because I want purple and teal all the time, but at least the team will continue to sport those colors for Throwback Thursday’s at Chase Field.
Paul Goldschmidt is excited to be a part of the team’s uniform transition, as the D-backs prepare for their 19th season as an organization.
“I’m excited to be a part of this transition in 2016,” Goldschmidt said. “It’s been great to be a part of the process over the past year-plus in helping the Diamondbacks come up with uniforms that will look good and keep the tradition of both our franchise and the sport of baseball. As a player, the most important thing we can do is go out and put a winning team on the field.”
For the first nine seasons, the primary colors of the D-backs were purple and teal. Then, prior to the 2007 season the D-backs switched to the colors they wore last season: Sedona Red, Sonoran Sand, and Black.
It is worth mentioning that in 2007 the Snakes made the playoffs winning the N.L. West. Maybe that will happen in 2016 after another uniform change.
We will see what the team comes up with and I can’t wait until December 3rd when the official announcement is made. Leave your thoughts in the comments section below about what you think the new uniforms should look like!
