Pitchers and catchers first workout: February 15th
It’s finally here! The beginning of the season is two days away; the wait is over Diamondbacks fans! It is time for the players to turn their attention to preparing for the regular season…
Pitchers and catchers will begin their work this Wednesday (February 15). It always amazes me how fast the MLB off-season goes; it seems like just yesterday the Astros beat the Phillies in the world series. The Diamondbacks will have many familiar faces on the mound and behind the plate for workouts such as Zac Gallen and Carson Kelly. There will also be many new names and faces for the Diamondbacks including young catcher Gabriel Moreno, and veteran relief pitcher Miguel Castro.
There is a lot to watch for going into spring training. There will be a number of young pitchers looking to gain experience and make a good impression in order to make it to the bigs for the first time. For the veterans, this is the time of year to clean up the flaws of their game, in order to be as reliable as they can for the guys around them. It all begins on the 15th…
First spring training game: February 25th
Ah yes, the first action of the season against other MLB ball clubs. The Diamondbacks will open spring training with a split squad day against the Oakland A's and Colorado Rockies. Even though the games do not technically matter, spring training presents a great opportunity for veteran players to get back into the swing of things, and for prospects to prove they belong in the bigs…
There are 6 intriguing players Diamondbacks fans should watch closely this spring training. 3 pitchers and 3 position players. Veteran relief pitcher Jandel Gustave, and top starting pitcher prospects Brandon Pfaadt, and Mitchell Stumpo. Hot-hitting prospect outfielder Dom Canzone, top 3 prospect shortstop Jordan Lawlar, and teenage prospect infielder Deyvison De Los Santos. These players are set to shine this spring…
Opening Day: March 30th
In my opinion, opening day is some of the best 24 hours of the entire year. Every team is in the thick of it, there are good vibes all around from the fans, and most importantly, baseball is back for another season. 1 of 162…
This particular opening day will be a tough one for Arizona. They face the LA Dodgers who a season ago won an MLB-best 111 games. Led by an elite trio of Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith, the Diamondbacks have a tall task to open the 23’ season. But if Gallen is on the bump, the D-Backs always have a chance to win…
Home Opener: April 6th
Buy your tickets now Diamondbacks fans, seats are filling fast…
Arizona will play its first home game on April 6th. Unfortunately, they open the season against the Dodgers. I can’t even count on two hands all the reasons to be excited about the 23’ season. A full season of Corbin Carroll, another year of Zac Gallen, the reunion of the sheriff (Andrew Chafin), and first looks at Evan Longoria, Gabriel Moreno, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. I could do this all day. Let’s make it loud on opening day for this revamped squad Diamondbacks fans…
