Hello Diamondbacks' fans! My name is Josh Howard and I am a new contributor here with Venom Strikes! I'm very excited to be able to write for this website as it is my first official gig as an opinion piece writer, writing about any sports! Wait! Before you click away or run in horror, allow me tell you a little bit about myself!
As I mentioned before, this is my first time writing for any sports or any team, so I plan on growing in front of you, not only as a Diamondbacks fan and analyst, but as an article writer too. I hope to give you fun and thought inducing articles, not only using opinion, but also stats and fact. Hearing what you have to say is another reason I wanted to start writing. Sports debate is what keeps sports alive! So feel free to tell me you agree with me, or tell me why you may think I'm a big dummy! Now let me give you the origin of why I'm here in the first place.
From the earliest stages of my childhood, and probably even before that, my dad would sit me down with him and force me to watch baseball with him, as well as taking me to play little league baseball. It was by far and away his biggest passion. Little did I know that soon enough he wouldn't be forcing me anymore, as it would quickly become my biggest passion as well. Unfortunately I would go on to lose him in 2013 when I was at the age of 14, however, my passion for baseball has never faded or weakened in the slightest.
Regarding the personal fandom side of things, I am a massive, massive fan of the Texas Rangers. Born and raised in Dallas, they are the local favorite, so naturally, I was sucked right in. One of the greatest memories I ever have is the first baseball game that I ever went to. It was the Rangers versus the Red Sox in a game which the Rangers won, 15-8. That's right, that was my first ever game! How could I not love what I just saw? Needless to say I did, and here we are today.
With all of that being said, I have always been interested in the Arizona Diamondbacks, and if I'm being honest with you, I've also secretly rooted for them at times too. I have all the respect for the Diamondbacks faithful and diehards out there. Also a bit jealous you all have a World Championship title, and I don't! All kidding aside, thank you to all the readers in advance for letting me into your hub of all things Diamondbacks and into the D-backs fandom!
