It was a bit dicey, but Enrique Burgos has now closed two games in two nights for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

After the Diamondbacks were expected to go closer by committee and keep their options open after removing Addison Reed from the closers role, the team may have found an answer in Burgos.

It was a game that was much like the first game, an outstanding starting performance, followed by a game-tying home run and then a clutch hit to give the Diamondbacks the advantage.

Jeremy Hellickson after a decent outing against Washington, had a better outing tonight against Miami and if it wasn’t for one mistake pitch to Giancarlo Stanton, it would have been his best start of the season. Hellickson finished the night at 6 innings pitched, while only allowing 4 hits and giving up 2 runs.

Daniel Hudson picked up his first win of the season as he came in and pitched two scoreless innings of relief and Burgos locked down the save in the ninth. It looked like things were going to be interesting when runners were on the corners with two outs, but Burgos was able to get Mike Morse swinging to end the game.

The hero of the night was A.J. Pollock who hit a pinch hit home run in the 8th inning to get the dugout fired up and put the team on top for good.

Offensively the Diamondbacks were much better than last night. Yasmany Tomás continues to be a hitting machine and he raised his average to .342. It was also another night of good hitting from Nick Ahmed, who had two hits to raise his average to .181 after just batting .130 a little over a week ago. Paul Goldschmidt continued to struggle and went 0-4. the is just batting 1-9 so far this series.

After the Diamondbacks struggled in Philadelphia, things are looking much better after two games in this series. Tomorrow, the team looks to Chase Anderson as the young right-handed pitcher takes the mound. With a win, Arizona will take the series and creep back closer to that .500 mark.
