The Arizona Diamondbacks smell blood in the water and will look to sweep the Miami Marlins on Thursday morning. The Dbacks will try to take all 4 games of the series in a much needed trip to South Beach. Regardless of the result, the Dbacks have made up for their sluggish performance in Philadelphia. The vulnerable Marlins have had no success with their GM as their skipper.

Last night saw Arizona steal the game away. No, it wasn’t a nail-biter and Miami never once led. I’m alluding more to six stolen bases on Arizona’s part. A.J. Pollock was responsible for half of them, including a nabbing of home plate. Arizona’s offense backed the outstanding effort of Chase Anderson, would finished off 8 innings.

Probable Pitchers

Archie Bradley (2-1, 3.27 ERA, 15 K) vs Mat Latos (1-4, 5.54 ERA, 29 K)

The 22-year old uber prospect has had a very eventful start to his promising career. After winning two of his 1st three starts (all quality starts), Bradley was hit in the face by a line drive and headed to the DL. In his much anticipated return, Bradley wasn’t able to get out of the 3rd inning and surrendered four runs. Today’s start will be paramount for him to return to his pre-injury form.

Latos is also coming off an injury, in a way. His last outing was cut short after 3 innings due an injury to the shin. Latos had  gone through the best stretch of the season. He threw back-to-back quality starts, which included his only win of the season. Latos has had three 14 win seasons in his career and Miami hopes that he’ll return to the form during this season.

Starting Lineups

Among the regulars that will take a day are Paul Goldschmidt, Tuffy Gosewisch and Nick Ahmed. Mark Trumbo returns to the lineup, playing 1st base. Yasmany Tomas will hit in front of Trumbo, in the cleanup spot. The first pitch is at 9:10 MST in Miami.
