After losing three very winnable games in St. Louis, the Arizona Diamondbacks took the first game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.

Now they have a chance to win the series on Saturday, and build up some more momentum before coming home.

The starting pitching may have not been pretty on Friday, but the hitting was as the Diamondbacks hit four home runs en route to a 7-5 victory.

Paul Goldschmidt led the way for the Diamondbacks with three hits, all of which were doubles, and Nick Ahmed broke a tie with a home run in the 8th inning. Ahmed has really been hitting well lately, and is becoming a productive member of the offense.

Ender Inciarte, David Peralta and A.J. Pollock each had home runs of their own in the big win. New catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 0-4 for in his first start with his new club. However, with Tuffy Gosewisch having a torn ACL, he could be the starting catcher for some time.

Today, the team turns to Jeremy Hellickson, who has been much better as of late, to lead them to a series victory. It’s also possible we could see a return of Addison Reed to the closer role. Reed has had a 2.25 ERA in his last 7 outings and has improved his mechanics.
